UAE Residency and Relocation
Company, residency, and Emirates ID in the UAE turnkey
We help entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and families identify the most suitable basis for UAE residency, complete the required procedures, obtain an Emirates ID and establish the infrastructure they need to live and work in the country.
Relocating to the UAE rarely comes down to obtaining a visa alone. One client may need to establish a company and operate an international business. Another may be planning to relocate with a spouse and children. A third may be purchasing property and considering long-term residency. For someone else, the immediate priority may be an Emirates ID and access to the local banking system.
Each scenario involves its own sequence of steps, document requirements and ongoing obligations. This is why MANAR CAPITAL begins not with a standard visa package, but with an assessment of the client’s circumstances and the selection of a route aligned with their actual plans.

What UAE Residency Means
A UAE residence permit allows a foreign national to live legally in the country for a specified period. The duration depends on the category and the basis of the application. Some residence visas are issued for one, two or three years, while certain long-term programmes may provide residency for five or ten years.
Obtaining UAE residency is linked to the issuance of an Emirates ID, the official identity card for UAE residents. It is used when dealing with government authorities, banks, healthcare and insurance providers, telecommunications companies, landlords and other organisations in the country.
An Emirates ID may be required to open a bank account, enter into a tenancy agreement, obtain health insurance, arrange mobile or internet services and access government services. However, holding an Emirates ID does not in itself guarantee bank account approval or establish tax residency.
A residence visa, an Emirates ID and tax residency are separate concepts. A residence visa confirms immigration status and the right to live in the country. An individual’s tax position is assessed separately, taking into account physical presence, place of residence, personal and economic ties and other applicable criteria.
Who May Benefit from UAE Residency
UAE residency may be relevant for entrepreneurs planning to establish a company and manage a business from the UAE, professionals with international income, investors and property owners, as well as families considering the Emirates as their primary or additional place of residence.
For one client, residency forms part of a wider corporate structure. For another, the main objective is to sponsor family members. A third may need access to local banking and business infrastructure while continuing to operate and hold assets in other countries.
When selecting a residency route, it is important to consider more than the speed and initial cost of the application. The client should understand in advance whether an active company will be required, how many visas are needed, how long they expect to remain outside the UAE, whether they require a personal or corporate bank account and what costs will arise on renewal.
How to Choose the Right Basis for UAE Residency
There is no universal route that suits every applicant. The same objective — obtaining UAE residency — may be achieved through different qualifying grounds, but each option has different practical and financial implications.
Residency Through a Company
For clients planning to run their own business, one possible route is UAE residency through a company. The first steps are to select the jurisdiction, determine the licensed business activities and establish the legal entity. The residence visa process can then begin for an owner, partner, manager or employee.
This route should be assessed as more than a way to obtain a visa. The company will require annual renewal, compliance with corporate and tax obligations and preparation for bank onboarding. Before incorporation, it is therefore important to understand what activities the company will conduct, which countries and counterparties it will work with and what transactions are expected to pass through its account.
Golden Visa
Where the objective involves long-term residence, investment, property ownership or professional qualifications, eligibility for a UAE Golden Visa may be considered.
Depending on the category, this status may be granted for five or ten years and may allow eligible family members to be sponsored. However, owning property or a company, making an investment or having professional experience does not automatically mean that the applicant meets the programme requirements.
Before applying, it is necessary to confirm the applicant’s specific category, the form of asset ownership, the property value, professional qualifications and the required supporting documents.
Professional and Independent Residency Programmes
Certain investors, entrepreneurs, freelancers and highly skilled professionals may qualify for an independent long-term residence category. Professionals employed by a foreign company may also be eligible for remote work residence programmes.
Other qualifying grounds may relate to employment, education, property ownership, retirement programmes and family sponsorship. Eligibility and the conditions of a particular route must be assessed in light of the applicant’s documents, income, profession and chosen emirate.
MANAR CAPITAL’s role is to compare the available options not only by their initial cost, but also by how well they support the client’s long-term plans.
Family Relocation to the UAE
Where a move involves the whole family, it is advisable to plan the route for all family members from the outset, even where the process begins with one principal applicant.
The first step is to establish the basis for the principal applicant’s residency. Once the appropriate status has been obtained, the applicant may, subject to the applicable requirements, sponsor a spouse, children and, in certain cases, other dependants.
The main challenge in family applications is often not the submission itself, but document preparation. Marriage and birth certificates may require translation, legalisation and additional attestation. Differences in the spelling of names, insufficient proof of relationship or an unsuitable document format can delay the entire process.
MANAR CAPITAL therefore establishes the application sequence in advance, reviews the documents for each applicant and coordinates the timing of the principal and dependant residence visas.

How MANAR CAPITAL Supports Your Relocation
Our work begins with a consultation to clarify the client’s objectives. We need to understand whether the client plans to run a business, relocate with family, purchase property, open a personal or corporate bank account and how much time they expect to spend in the country.
We then assess the available residency routes. At this stage, it is important to exclude options that appear straightforward at first but may create additional costs or restrictions later.
For example, forming a low-cost company may make it possible to begin the visa process but prove unsuitable for genuine business activity or bank account opening. A property purchase may meet the client’s investment objectives but fail to satisfy the criteria of the selected residency programme. A professional category may initially appear appropriate but require additional evidence of qualifications and further approvals.
Based on our assessment, we propose a structured route and explain the possible basis for residency, the documents required, which procedures may be completed remotely and when the client will need to travel to the UAE.
Where the client is relocating with family, we define the sequence for the principal applicant and dependants in advance. Where residency is linked to a business, we coordinate the visa process with company formation in the UAE and subsequent preparation for bank onboarding.
We then coordinate the preparation of applications and supporting documents. Where necessary, we arrange translations, notarisation, legalisation, attestation or additional supporting evidence through specialised professionals and partners.
Once the qualifying basis has been established, we support the required immigration procedures, medical fitness testing, biometrics and Emirates ID issuance. After the principal status has been completed, the family, banking and corporate infrastructure can be put in place.
How the Residency Process Works
The first stage is an assessment of the client’s objectives and existing documents. We review the passport, current immigration status, family circumstances and any relevant business, property, investment, employment or professional basis.
We then compare the available programmes and prepare a personalised plan. The plan sets out the sequence of actions, indicative timelines, government and related costs, personal attendance requirements and renewal conditions.
Once the route has been selected, the supporting documents are prepared. Depending on the basis of the application, these may include corporate documents, an employment contract, proof of income, property documents, academic qualifications, professional licences, and marriage and birth certificates.
The qualifying basis is then established: a company is incorporated, an investment is documented, employment is formalised or the documents for another category are prepared.
The relevant immigration procedures are then initiated. The applicant may need to complete a medical fitness test, provide biometric data and finalise the Emirates ID process.
Once the principal status has been granted, the client can proceed with family sponsorship, bank account opening and other matters connected with living and working in the UAE.
Why Relocation Should Be Planned as One Integrated Route
Residency, company formation, bank accounts and international payments are often interdependent.
If a visa is obtained without considering the client’s next steps, the chosen basis may later prove unsuitable for the family’s long-term plans. If a company is established without reviewing bank requirements, the client may obtain a licence but encounter difficulties opening a corporate account. If a property is purchased for Golden Visa purposes without an initial eligibility review, its characteristics may not meet the programme criteria.
We therefore consider the entire sequence in advance: the basis for residency, document preparation, immigration procedures, Emirates ID, family sponsorship, banking infrastructure and future renewals.
This approach helps the client understand not only the first step, but also how the chosen structure is expected to function one or several years later.
Banking Infrastructure After Obtaining an Emirates ID
An Emirates ID generally provides broader access to banking services in the UAE, but it does not guarantee that an account will be opened.
Each financial institution independently reviews the applicant’s professional profile, income, source of funds, expected transaction countries and economic ties to the UAE. Banking requirements should therefore be considered when selecting the relocation and residency route.
MANAR CAPITAL helps assess the client’s profile, identify suitable financial institutions and prepare evidence of income, source of funds and the expected nature of transactions.

Where residency is linked to a business, a separate onboarding process applies to the corporate account. The bank reviews the company’s activities, shareholders, counterparties, corporate documents and expected turnover.

International Payments and Property Transactions
After obtaining UAE residency, a client may need to transfer personal or corporate funds to the UAE, settle payments with international counterparties or pay for property.
These transactions require a separate review of the supporting documents, source of funds, payment purpose, beneficiary and the available banking or payment route.
MANAR CAPITAL can help prepare transaction documents, coordinate with a bank or licensed payment service provider and oversee the execution of the transfer.

What to Consider Before Starting the Process
Some Procedures Require Personal Attendance
Document preparation and certain applications can be arranged remotely. However, medical fitness testing, biometrics and some stages of the Emirates ID process are generally completed in the UAE.
We determine in advance which steps can be completed before arrival and prepare the schedule so that the client does not need to remain in the country longer than necessary.
Obtaining a Visa Does Not Complete the Entire Process
Once the status has been granted, its validity period and maintenance conditions must be observed. For certain residence visas, extended periods outside the UAE may be relevant, while some long-term programmes provide more flexible conditions.
Costs Are Not Limited to the Initial Application
The overall budget may include government fees, medical testing, insurance, translation and legalisation of documents, family sponsorship, company licensing, a registered business address, accounting support and future renewals.
We therefore aim to show the client not only the cost of the first stage, but also the ongoing cost of maintaining the selected structure.
An Emirates ID Does Not Guarantee Bank Account Approval
A resident identity card is an important part of the banking profile, but the bank will still conduct its own review of the client, income, source of funds and expected transactions.
Decisions Are Made by Government Authorities and Banks
MANAR CAPITAL assesses the circumstances, prepares the documents and supports the process, but cannot guarantee approval of a residence visa, Emirates ID or bank account. The final decision is made by the relevant government authority or financial institution.
Renewals and Ongoing Support
Residency status must be kept valid and up to date. Where it is linked to a company, the company licence, corporate documents, owner’s visa and family members’ residence visas should be monitored together.
Where residency is based on property, an investment or a professional category, the qualifying conditions may need to be confirmed again at renewal.
MANAR CAPITAL can maintain a document and renewal calendar, provide advance notice of upcoming deadlines and coordinate the renewal, amendment or cancellation of a status.
If the existing basis no longer supports the client’s plans, we help assess the possibility of moving to another residency route.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is company formation required to obtain UAE residency?
No. A company is only one of the possible qualifying grounds. Other options may include employment, family sponsorship, property ownership, a Golden Visa, professional programmes, remote work, education and other categories.
Can the process be started remotely?
Yes. A significant part of the preparation can be completed before arrival. However, personal attendance is generally required for the medical fitness test, biometrics and completion of certain procedures.
How long is UAE residency granted for?
The validity period depends on the selected category and may range from one to ten years. Renewal is possible provided that the qualifying basis remains in place and the relevant programme requirements continue to be met.
Can family members obtain residency?
Yes. Once the principal applicant has obtained an eligible status, they may, subject to the applicable requirements, sponsor a spouse, children and, in certain cases, other dependants.
Does an Emirates ID entitle the holder to open a bank account?
An Emirates ID provides broader access to local banking products, but it does not guarantee approval. The bank separately assesses income, source of funds, professional profile and expected transactions.
Does a UAE residence visa make a person a UAE tax resident?
Not automatically. Tax residency is determined separately, taking into account physical presence, place of residence, economic ties and other applicable criteria.
Is it necessary to remain in the UAE permanently?
The rules governing time spent outside the country depend on the residence visa category. This should be considered when selecting the basis for residency, particularly where the client expects to spend most of the year in another country.
We Will Help You Select the Right Residency Route
There is no single solution for every applicant. One client may benefit from company formation, another from a property-based Golden Visa, while a third may qualify through a professional, family or employment route.
MANAR CAPITAL assesses the client’s objectives, family and financial circumstances, business plans and expected activities in the UAE. We then propose a clear sequence of steps and explain the documents, costs and obligations associated with the selected route.
